About

After a year off due to the global pandemic, WTJU is pleased to bring back Freefall with one blockbuster community festival on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

Cognizant of COVID safety guidelines, the 2021 event is a free, outdoor event of excellent music and connection with one another. Mask-wearing is not required while outdoors at this event. But all attendees should wear masks indoors, including the restrooms.

Freefall started in 2015 as the Levitt Amp Concert series. WTJU 91.1 FM, IX Art Park, and the Levitt Foundation all shared a belief in the power of free outdoor music to bring communities together.

In its third year, the 2017 concert series struck on its own and became Freefall. (A series of free fall concerts… get it?)

WTJU and IX Art Park are committed to enriching the lives of everyone in the Charlottesville area. Freefall is our signature event series to do just that.
